Raleigh Dog Coach Success Stories
Success is something that everyone wants to see come into their lives. Whether your definition of success be related to happiness, or milestones, or something else entirely.
These wonderful dogs and their people saw it within their training journey, and continue to see it long after.
No more separation anxiety for Nala
Nala the Corgi (@nalathecarolinacorgi) started training after she started becoming really anxious about her people leaving her home alone. She even started to chew on the furniture! Even though they spent plenty of time with her, and left her with bones and toys. She had a really bad habit of taking off out the door, and not listening to her dad either. Now Nala and her people can explore and have adventures all over Raleigh and not worry that she’ll run away. Her separation anxiety has turned almost completely around. Here’s what her owner had to say about her transformation:
”My corgi, Nala was 6 months old when Suzannah started training her and we’ve been using her ever since! When I contacted Suzannah, she was having behavioral issues and severe separation anxiety and I just didn’t know what to do anymore. After a few sessions with her, I already saw improvements and after a few short weeks- I could tell a MAJOR difference. Now, Nala has not only calmed down, but she listens so well and her separation anxiety has improved so much. I’m so thankful for Suzannah and how she’s helped Nala overcome her weaknesses! I highly recommend using her and only wish we had found her sooner!”

Prairie is happy and social now
Prairie is a dog that I hold very near and dear to my heart. Fostering dogs for rescue is something that I did often before I moved to Raleigh. Prairie came from a rural town in Wyoming, where her and 40+ other dogs were seized in a hoarding case. Finding placement for that many dogs at once was extremely difficult for such a small town, so many were sent over state lines to various rescue partners. Miss Prairie found her way to me, almost completely feral! She had been living in a pen her entire life with a few other dogs, and very little human contact. The only thing she wanted to do was run, and she hid and shook when humans approached her. She was terrified of simple things, like stairs, doors closing, tile floors, leashes, and loud noises. I fostered, cared for, and trained Prairie for almost 4 months. In that time, she became best buddies with my own dogs, allowed for grooming and brushing, was trusted off leash in almost any situation, and approached strangers on her own to sniff and get to know them! Almost all of her other fears completely disappeared as well, and she became ready to take on the world. The massive transformation that she went through allowed Prairie to be one of the “lucky ones” that came from such a hard situation as she did. She was adopted by a wonderful family, has a Yorkie big brother, and goes on walks with her mom every morning now.
Bailey comes when called and doesn’t potty indoors anymore
Bailey the Border Collie came to live with me in Raleigh for a few weeks for Puppy Training Camp. This girl had separation anxiety so severe that she woke up several times in the night in distress if she could not find anyone near her. Her potty habits weren’t improving much at home at all, and she generally was very excitable and didn’t listen very well. While here, she learned how to tell her owners when she needed to go out, learned to come when called, all of her obedience, and even overcame 90% of her separation anxiety in the 3 short weeks that she was here. Now her owners know that she will listen, and can take her on many more adventures than before. She’s calmer and more confident in public, and much more in tune with her people. Here’s what her owner had to say after she went home from Training Camp:
”Suzannah,
Thank you so much for all of this. It is really helpful for me. Bailey is doing very well. You did an AMAZING work with her!”
